While participating in a group show at the ARTSFORUM Gallery in New York City, a review about Leach's work stated, "The visual reference to the dark shadowed areas in the work of Alyson Leach suggests not only the poetic insinuations that float on the surface of her works, it also infers a subsequent retrieval of psychic energy magnificently reified in material form through paint on canvas, paper or wood. "

Leach keeps her studio in Galeton, Pennsylvania. Her works include a number of different series including an insomnia series of night interiors, windows from inside and outside and landscape works, which include winter-scapes and ocean works. The work is completed in a wide range of media including mixed media collage, oil painting, mixed media inks and pastels on rabbit skin glue sized papers, and some assembled pieces. Leach‚s work is expressionistic in nature and flows between abstraction and minimalism, with an occasional figurative reference.
